Have your cake...and eat it, too!
Literally. No need to totally deny your sweet tooth to lose weight. But trimming calories even on treats can get you closer to your goal. (Saving a mere 100 calories a day can add up to a weight loss of 10 pounds over one year!) Try these ideas:
- Take a middle piece of sheet cake rather than a corner piece—you’ll get less icing. Calories saved: 100
- Choose a yeast doughnut (the puffy kind) rather than a cake doughnut. Calories saved: 90
- Get a scoop of ice cream sans cone. Calories saved: 81
- Say yes to pie! Just eat the filling and leave the crust. Calories saved: 100
