Spry Seeks 2010 Inspiration Awards Nominations

FRANKLIN, Tenn.— Spry, the nation's largest health and wellness magazine, is now accepting nominations for its 2010 Inspiration Award winners.

The magazine, published monthly and distributed to 8.5 million readers via 600 newspaper partners, is looking to showcase women and men who serve as healthy role models, who support health and wellness-related causes through volunteer or professional work, and/or who have faced and overcome health difficulties and shared their strength and knowledge with others.

Three winners will be selected by a panel of Spry staff, including Editor-in-Chief Lisa Delaney, author of Secrets of a Former Fat Girl, a memoir of her journey to lose 70 pounds and keep it off for over 20 years; and Spry Fitness Coach Petra Kolber, a two-time cancer survivor and one of the top fitness professionals in the country. The three winners will be featured on the cover of the December 2010 issue of Spry, and will also receive a three-night, four-day retreat at Lake Austin Spa Resort, voted the #1 destination spa in North America in 2009 by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler.

"Inspiration—not just information and advice—is key to making real, lasting healthy changes in your life, Delaney said. "There's inspiration all around us. Spry is all about bringing it to light and giving our readers and online audience the spark they need to start down a healthier path—and keep going."

Nominations will be accepted beginning July 1, 2010 through August 20, 2010 on Spryliving.com/contests. Entrants will be asked to submit a short essay of 200 words and a recent color photo of the nominee in addition to filling out a form with basic contact information. If entering by mail, entrants should submit:

a recent color photo of your nominee
a short essay of 200 words or less describing how your nominee inspires you to live healthier and why he/she deserves to win a Spry Inspiration Award,
the nominator's name, address, date of birth, phone number, and email address, and
the nominee's name, address, age, phone number, and email address to Spry Inspiration Awards, 341 Cool Springs Blvd., Ste 400, Franklin, TN 37067. (Entries submitted by mail must be postmarked by August 20, 2010.)
