Samurai Sam's is a good HEALTHY fast food restaurant off Woodman and Austin Bluffs in the Kings Soupers shopping center. They have rice bowls which are the healthiest bet and you can request broccoli besides the other veggies they give. You can ask for brown rice even and the manager there once told me they use a type of rice that is lower in carbs. Also, you can ask for no sauce, however, their sauce is tasty. Just don't use too much!

The seared tuna at Bistro Wasabi at Levis Commons is the best! It is so fresh and healthy with the seaweed salad on top. Yum!

Without a question, by far, Chinar on the Island is the healthiest, most beautiful restaurant, that is like the city restaurant but with no such price tag. Salads, seafood, fish, kebab, nothing fried and greasy. Salads are to die for! Definetely.

Richard’s Mexican Restaurant Touted as New Mexico’s healthiest Mexican restaurant (who’s ever heard of one of those?), Richard’s leaves the usual high-sodium and high-fat additions out of its menu completely. Our top pick is the protein-packed Rice and Lentil Burritos, which come wrapped in a wheat tortilla with a side of pinto beans. If you can resist the lure of chips, this is one healthy plate. All too often restaurants take a healthy item like fish and layer it with butter or nuts that hike up the calorie count. With its “mindful dining” mantra, Rock Creek Mazza creates a Wild Alaska Halibut dusted with fennel (which adds a good dose of fiber) served with roasted peppers, artichoke hearts and Mediterranean olives. The entire dinner is amazingly only 303 calories—find a full nutritional breakdown of each menu item on the Web site. For more information: www.rockcreekrestaurant.com

If you don't mind a 'tavern' atmosphere, Royal Tavern on Passayunk between 7th and 6th has great vegan and vegetarian dishes like the Vegan Sloppy Joe, Tempeh Club, and Portabello Panini. Great beer list, too.

The Dish: Ramsey’s Perfect Protein Platter
The Restaurant: Spiral Diner & Bakery, Fort Worth, Texas

It takes guts to open a vegan restaurant smack in the middle of a cow town like Fort Worth. But one bite of this combo and you’ll know why this meat- and dairy-free joint is thriving. Black beans and quinoa (a protein-packed whole grain) are cooked with homemade salsa and spices, and topped with avocado for a hearty result. As if that’s not enough reason to feel virtuous, Spiral’s donates a portion of profits to environmental-rights groups.

The Dish: Roasted Beet and French Lentil Salad
The Restaurant: Mizuna, Spokane, Wash.

At this Pacific Northwest eatery, the reigning philosophy is that the fewer the ingredients, the better. We’ll second that! Mizuna offers a menu stocked with produce from area farmers, reducing the restaurant’s carbon footprint. This salad, featuring organic greens, goat cheese, candied walnuts and red wine-maple vinaigrette, proves that simple is simply delicious.

The Dish: Organic Steak Sandwich
The Restaurant: Siggy’s Good Food, Brooklyn, N.Y.

This neighborhood haunt serves the locally grown ingredients (local to the greater New York area, anyway). Dig in to this old standby with a new twist: Grass-fed beef is topped with caramelized onions and mushrooms on ciabatta bread. The not-so-secret ingredient? Herb vegenaise, a blend of herbs and heart-healthy grapeseed and sunflower oils—arguably tastier than its high-cholesterol counterpart.

Go to Zoe's and order the pita sandwich with grilled chicken and slaw. The slaw has a vinaigrette dressing and feta cheese ... a bit too much feta but you can pick some out. You can also get this (I think) on a platter without the pita if you want. The greek salad is also really good.
