"The fantastic story started yesterday, after shower, I dared to weigh myself, genius! I look at the number and in disbelief start yelling for my roommate to come check her weight on my skewed scale, she still weighs the same and then it hit me! I am 8 lbs lighter... they might have taken time, but 8 lbs are good, no they are a great start!
Lisa, Amie and all members of this blog I owe you huge thanks for all the support and inspiration you guys are!
have a Happy new year and best of luck to all of you! "

"I feel like a million! I braved the super-cold (3F) weather and walked 30 min to the gym and exercised well!
although they're closing for break, but I will make it up, I promise.

"I have been bad, really bad, avoiding the gym, not focusing, eating pasta (a lot of pasta) and smoking again!
I lie to everyone, saying i am fiiiiiiine (imagine the cheer face and the tone) and i am crumbling under so much!
truth: I lost my father 3 months ago, didn't mourn at all, I am oceans far from home and my mother is doing so bad, every laughter i have is filled with guilt, and every dollar spent is equally painful. I am in debt, I have to save up for my trip home (the least I could do is see her...) and i have to work like crazy to make up for my 4 months leave. I am grad student and I make less than you will ever imagine!
My weight issue is like this HUGE mountain on my mind/shoulders, I wanna take advantage of youth before i get diabetes or high blood pressure, my body is still giving me chances and I have been treating it like ****
and how on earth do i look at myself and all these stretch marks on my belly? a bikini is out of question for life! even if i lose weight, i will still have the "scars"
and PS whoever wrote that book on losing weight and suggested to let the steam of frustration off in a relationship (physically) is disturbed... Get one man to want a relationship with a morbidly obese woman and get back to me...
too much ranting, but it feels like a huge weight (pun-intended and thanks lisa for the inspiration) is off my chest"

"cough didn;t allow me any sleep for the past two night, and it seems I am on my way to the third sleepless night.
I have an appointment in the morning tomorrow, let's see that never ending cold....meanwhile i hope I didn't undo everything in the past week and I didn't go the gym at all!!! but tried to walk every occasion I could. The cold doesn't help in PA. it is currently sleety, snowy, rainy and we haven't seen the sun since Thursday morning!
anyways, tomorrow back to routine, and I hope i wont feel heavy and sluggish after that break!

"ok help!!! the slob in me is kicking back :( the gym has weird hours over thanksgiving break and although mu bag is always ready, I didn't go or made an effort to!
I again went shopping with the ladies, sizes 0, 2 and 4... and the "OH MY GOD I AM FAT" comments from them are KILLING ME!!!!
2 dinners this weekend and i noticed small changes in my behavior around food, though not I wasn't too careful... with another feast on the way, I am afraid to step on that scale.
I promise to be here more frequently!"

"still taking baby steps... workout wise. the food is a whole other issue but i am mentally noting down and depicting eating patterns.
no change on the scale,i guess the process takes time (i should know better) what matters is that i feel pretty good. and no i haven't disappeared more to come hopefully soon."

"2:18 am, life sounds messy! Huge exam coming on tuesday and hopefully the last one in my time as a student, only research left. The momentum I got from working out reflected on academia (I am a deadline person, nevertheless an overachiever) I finished a my ppt 2 days ahead of time! No excuses (night before exam) not to go for a workout session.
On the other hand, life is messy...setback: the man who refused entering a relationship with me because of "leaving town in 7 months" started dating, posting loving pix...it doesn't sound like a fling to me!
Sabotage sabotage, my very good friend, a RD/ nutritionist for the love of God!!!!!!!!!! pushed food on me! she works on childhood obesity why why whyyyyyy????
anyways... time to end the post 2:28 am

"I packed a salad with my lunch, despite the inconvenience of carrying 2 containers and spraying balsamic vinegar on my desk. I didn't exercise, sore muscles but i will tomorrow! I haven't kept it secret though, I was reading secret #2 and thought of the many times i got the " should you be eating this" look... ugh!
but i am confident i will keep people out of it, i already shooed my best friend skinny as she is from coming to the same facility and exercising next to me! It doesn't help that I am dealing with a lot of
emotional stuff on the side but i'll take it as one of my acquaintances tells me "i am doing some alone time"

"I packed my gym clothes, my right shoes, right underwear in a bag. I am a graduate student and I have been paying membership to the gym for... as long as i have been here, used it a couple of time.
Still debating join a class or hit the non-busy loft above the Nat.
I am feeling aches everywhere from being taped to my desk and computer...it is part of what I do! If only i could get a relief that I can exercise, given that I know 3 flights of stairs (when the elevator is broken) can leave me panting for 10 minutes...
Obama became president, YES WE CAN! YES I CAN"
Fresher produce: It's in the Bag
Make your farmers' market goodies last three to four days longer by making your own produce storage bags. Use a pin to poke about 20 holes in a medium-size zip-top bag. That prevents the build-up of carbon dioxide, which slows the ripening process. read all tips
